In , we outline how high temperatures affect health, discuss the associated threats, as well as potential benefits, and provide practical strategies for adapting in a sustnable manner.

The impact of heat on our bodies is profound; elevated temperatures can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion or stroke, and exacerbate cardiovascular issues like heart attacks and strokes. Heat exposure may cause a range of adverse health outcomes including respiratory distress, kidney problems, and heat-related deaths.

However, it's not all negative - heat exposure could also offer some benefits such as stimulating thermogenesis which promotes fat breakdown for energy production in the body. This effect might encourage weight loss or improve metabolic health if coupled with physical activity.

To cope with rising heat, here are some sustnable approaches:

  1. Adaptive Clothing: Opt for lightweight and breathable fabrics that allow sweat to evaporate quickly. Wearing loose-fitting clothes made from natural materials such as cotton could help in staying cool during hot weather.

  2. Hydration and Nutritional Balance: Drink plenty of water and electrolyte-rich beverages like coconut water or sports drinks to replenish fluids lost through sweating.
